The history of China is a long story full of dynasties rising and falling, recognized by the periods of technological and cultural development, followed by division, conflict, which leads to unification under the Qin Dynasty.
Early civilizations emerged in the Yellow River valley which led to the first recorded dynasty such as Shang Dynasty. Then the Zhou Dynasty which followed the initial "golden age" turned out to fracture into a time of constant conflict that motivated the technological and military advancements.
